WED. 30TH JAN. LESSON + HOMEWORK

Hi everybody,
Yesterday we finised Unit 7C -talked about the text on p. 64 and did the listening on p. 65.

We then moved onto the topic of mobile phones- Unit 7D- and to introduce it we spoke first about its use and abuse and afterwards did a listening and we did EXAM SPEAKING PRACTICE: DIALOGUE about allowing your teenager son to have or not a mobile phone.

We then started Unit 7D- p. 66 and checked the vocabulary on ex. 1 (definitions on p. 141)- MORE SPEAKING PRACTICE.

HOMEWORK:
- RECORDING about pros and cons of internet or mobile phones. If you have the opportunity (a friend, member of family etc with who you can do a DIALOGUE ...do it, if not, just prepare a MONOLOGUE so you can practise pronunciation, intonation and grammar structures!!!). Remember you can use any device: mobile phone etc...or any webpage like vocaroo.com

- WORKBOOK: We did not have time to check Unit 6 (p. 33-36), so on Wednesday next week we'll check this and also Unit 7- p. 41+42+43

28th JAN. LESSON + HOMEWORK

Yesterday we started Unit 7C (p. 64-65) about INTERNET.

We spoke about the pros and cons of the use of internet related to children, disabled, dating and relationships. 

We did a listening and then checked the vocabulary (ex. 1 p. 64) and moved onto the prefixes (ex. 3 p. 65) and reviewed the meaning of the prefixes and did a speaking activity to finish.

For Wednesday, read the text on p. 64, we'll talk about it and remember we'll check the WORKBOOK (p. 33-36).

WED. 23RD LESSON + HOMEWORK

Yesterday we finished Unit 6A (p. 52-53) and did a SPEAKING LESSON (ex. 1+6+7)

We saw the video about how Americans describe British people and we talked about Spanish customs and behaviour.

Finally, we corrected homework (dossier p. 37) and finished talking again practising certainty about the future structures (dossier p. 16).

HOMEWORK FOR NEXT WEEK:
- WRITING ABOUT FOREIGNERS COMING TO SPAIN. I'll send you all the details by email.
- WORKBOOK: UNIT 6- p. 33+34+35+36- we'll check doubts on Wednesday

MOND. 21ST JAN. LESSON

Hi there,
Yesterday we started correcting all Unit 5 in the WORKBOOK and then finished Unit 6B (P. 55 ex. 6 + 7) reviewing structures to express certainty in the future (to be bound to/I  may well/ I dare say....).

Therefore, we then moved to Unit 6A (p. 52-53) and did the reading there and explained the use of the -ING FORM (GRAMMAR + LISTENING ex. 3 + 5).

We talked about British and about Spanish. Watch THIS VIDEO and try to understand as many adjectives as possible that are used to describe the Bristish.
We'll talk about it on Wednesday.

WED. 16TH JAN. LESSON + HOMEWORK

Yesterday we started Unit 6B (p. 54-55) and checked adjectives to describe people first (vocabulary) while speaking about somebody they knew.

EXTRA: PRACTISE LISTENING AND PERSONALITY VOCABULARY HERE

We then did a kind of personality test and the listening on p. 54 that introduced the grammar structure we explained about expressing certainty in the future (ex. 4) and we finised practising them doing a speaking activity (dossier p. 16).


On Monday, we'll correct:
- WORKBOOK - UNIT 5 (except Unit 5B)
- Student's p. 55 ex. 6 (grammar)

MONDAY 14TH JAN. LESSON + HOMEWORK

Yesterday we finished Unit 5. We listened again to the conversation about water shortage (Unit 5E), then, spoke about public transport, recycling, new energies etc...(Unit 5D), after that we watched 2 videos about Fairtrade and global warming.

And we finished with a GAME practising WAYS OF COMPARING (DOSSIER P. 12) 

HOMEWORK:
- For WEDNESDAY just do Ex. 1 p. 54 (Unit 6B)- vocabulary

- For MONDAY 21st: WORKBOOK: UNIT 5 (from p. 27- 32, except Unit 5B)

FRIDAY 11TH JAN. LESSON

Today we have checked p. 36 (dossier) and gone back to Unit 5D (p. 48) and read the discussion structures (ex. 4) and analyse how to make a correct dialogue and then they have discussed about SOLAR ENERGY giving arguments for and against and trying to use the structures on p. 48.

We have then talked about the text on Unit 5E and discussed about WATER SHORTAGE and how to save water.

We have listened once to ex. 3 (p. 51) but we'll finish the exercises on Monday.

Remember to do your homework (WRITING).

WED. 9TH JAN. LESSON + HOMEWORK FOR FRIDAY 11TH

Yesterday we corrected homework (Ex. 6 p. 43) reviewing ways of comparing (p. 136)  and checked some vocabulary (dossier p. 49).

We reviewed and learned some vocabulary about ANIMALS (P. 135) and did a comparing activity (SPEAKING).

We then did a listening about animals and finished talking about ENVIRONMENT (Unit 5D) and calculating our Ecological Footprint. You can click HERE to calculate your own footprint and to read about this topic.

MOND. 7TH JAN. LESSON + HOMEWORK FOR WED.

Well well well...here we're back and with the batteries full of energy!!!!

Yesterday we started Unit 5A after talking about our determinations for next year.

We did the speaking and reading (p. 42-43), talked about pets and animals and explained the grammar structures to compare things (p. 136) and did ex. 5.

Homework for WEDNESDAY:
1- EX. 6 p. 43
2- Listen to the link I put yesterday on the blog about environment. I just want you to listen to it and be able to retell your classmates what it is about (you can do the exercises you've got on the link whenever you want).
3- EXTRA: As we saw a video about Steve Irwin yesterday (we did a listening comprehension exercise), also do the vocabulary exercises on Dossier p. 49. I'll send you the solutions by email.
